Trip Overview

If you’re short on time and looking for a comfortable Everest experience, here’s a unique way to see the Everest Region and all the main highlights. You’ll spend your nights in the comfort of Himalayan resorts (often with panoramic views) and your days either trekking and flying through the Everest region by helicopter.

This 5 days trek takes you through the Khumbu region of Nepal, bringing you close to the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest. Throughout the trek you will have magnificent views of Mt Everest [8.848 m], Lhotse [8.501 m], Nuptse [7.879 m], Ama Dablam [6.856 m], Thamserku [6.608 m] and Kantega [6685m], as well as the great glaciers, snowfields and ice ridges. You will experience the culture of amazing Sherpa villages and have the opportunity to visit many famous Buddhist monasteries.

The highest point on this trip is stunning Tengboche Monastery at 3846 meters. Each day’s walk involves six to seven, hours of moderately graded hiking. While the walking trails are not so hard, the altitude makes it more difficult than it otherwise would be for those unaccustomed to walking at these heights.

After meeting the crew, we start your trek. You head up the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail to Phakding. It takes around 3-4 hours. We shall pass through Sherpa villages, prayer wheels, mani walls, and suspension bridges.

Overnight at the new luxury  – The Himalayan Luxury lodges of Everest, Phakding, Riverside.

  • Day 2 Trek to Namche Bazaar [3.450 m] (5-7 hrs), the heartland of the Sherpa people Mountain Lodges of Nepal -Namche!

After a nice Breakfast at Phakding, we begin the 2nd day trek following the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several iconic suspension bridges. We then pass through the village of Monjo.

Beyond Monjo is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park, which was set up in order to protect and preserve this fragile mountain environment.

We will also cross the famous Hilary Suspension Bridge

We then ascend quite steeply to Namche and, along the way, if the weather is clear, catch a first glimpse of Mt Everest in the distance. Namche is the main trading village in the Khumbu and has a busy Saturday market – a meeting place for the Hindu traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan yak caravans that have crossed the glaciated Nangpa La.  Its the modern, vibrant Sherpa Capital of Khumbu.

  • Day 3 Visit the Edmund Hillary school and Museum and Everest View Hotel and Sagarmatha Next Museum- Namche Bazar ! Mountain Lodges of Nepal -Namche!

Namche is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu and has an abundance of lodges, teahouses, and souvenir shops as well as a magnificent outlook.

Spend time in the heart of Namche Bazaar, where the legacy of Sir Edmund Hillary lives on. Visit the Edmund Hilary School and Museum to learn how mountaineering helped shape education and community development in the Khumbu region.  We take a gentle walk to the Everest View Hotel for breathtaking Himalayan panoramas of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest, then continue to the Sagarmatha Next Museum, a space that showcases innovation, sustainability, and the future of mountain communities in the Everest region.

  • Day 4 Trek to Tengboche [3.846 m] The Himalayan Tyangboche- Luxury Lodge

From Namche, the trail gently contours around the side of the valley, high above the Dudh Koshi. Now we get our first really good views of the great peaks of the Khumbu, including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. Passing by several villages and numerous teahouses, we descend steeply to a bridge over the river at Phunki Tenga. The village is an excellent lunch spot, and here we can rest before making the steep climb to Thyangboche. Although tiring, the hike up the zigzag path has numerous distractions, with rhododendron bushes, beautiful birds, and superb mountain scenery. Tengboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu. We stay near the monastery with Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam framed in the doorway of the lodge.

The walk to Thyangboche (Tengboche) takes around 5-6 hours,  passing through peaceful rhododendron forests and a traditional Sherpa village, before reaching the spiritual heart of the Khumbu at the famous monastery.

  • Day 5 Helicopter tour: EBC, Khumbu Icefall from Tengboche - and Return to Kathmandu Dwariks Hotel

Rather than trekking back the way you came, yesterday, you’ll rise early for a spectacular helicopter flight back to Kathmandu. During the scenic tour, you’ll soar over some of the area’s most magnificent blue glacier lakes and mountains. Look out for the jagged peak of the world’s highest mountain, Everest, and aerial views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kantega, Lhotse, and Nuptse.

After a breathtaking aerial experience beneath the world’s highest peaks, fly back to Kathmandu, carrying memories of the Himalayas that few ever get to witness. Touch down and head back into the city, where you’ll enjoy the rest of the day as you please. Ease your aching muscles with a massage, enjoy a Nepalese meal, and relax in your hotel.
